Special Meeting of Monticello City Council
City Hall -- 7:30 P.M. -- June 26, 1975
Present: Con Johnson, Gene Walters, Dick Martie.
Absent: Stanley Hall, Denton Erickson.
Members' -of the Business and Industrial Development Commission
were also present at the request of the Council.
Mayor Johnson brought the meeting to order.
1. Public Hearing -Proposed 1974-1 Parking Facility Assess-
ments .
Furpose of meeting was to give affected property owners an
opportunity to be heard on the proposed assessments for the
1974-1 Parking Facility Project.
Mayor Johnson reviewed the history of the parking lot project
and Thore Meyer, engineer for the project, reviewed assessment
formula and policy.
At this time affected property owners had the opportunity to
be heard on the matter.
After all objections and comments were heard and recorded the
hearing was adjourned to such time -
as the Council had the
opportunity to make any adjustments. Notice of continuation
of meeting would be published in the newspaper. (See supple-
ment 6-26-75 #1.)
Council recessed for 5 minutes.
2. Request for Vacation of Oak Street.
George Phillips., chairman of Monticello -Big Lake Hospital
requested vacation of Oak Street as Hospital had option to
purchase property immediately to the east.
Motion by Martie, seconded by Walters and unanimously carried
to hold public hearing at regular council meeting, July 14,
1975, on vacation of Oak Street from Broadway to River Street
and from River Street to the Mississippi River. No portion of
River Street itself would be vacated. Should the street be
vacated, easements for utility lines would be granted to the
City.

3. Special meeting - July 8, 1975 - 7:30 P.M.
Special meeting called for July 8, 1975 to award construction
bids on 1975-1 Sanitary Sewer & Watermain Improvement Project
and to review proposed joint agreement on Local Government Aid
with Township of Monticello.
