IDC Minutes 05-15-1986 . MINUTES MONTICELLO INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPM NT COMMITTEE MEETING Thursday, May 15, 19: 6 - 7: OOAM Monticello Cit Hall Members Present: Chairperson Ron Lungwitz, Don Sm Joel Winkelman, Ollie Koropchak. oglund, Harvey Kendall, Dale th, Bud Schrupp, Arve Grimsmo, ay Morrell, Shelly Johnson, and Members Absent: Tom Eidem, Bruce agnelius, and John Bondhus. 1. Call to Order. The Monticello Industrial Deve opment Committee meeting was called to order by Chairperson Hoglund. 2. Approval of Minutes. Harvey Kendall motioned to app ove the April 17, 1986 IDC minutes. Seconded by Arve Gri smo and passed unanimously. . 3. U date and Finalization of the ID Ban uet. With the report of 101 tickets sold at present, the committee briefly discussed the price of tickets, stating tickets had been reduced from the original rice of $100.00. Don Smith reminded Joel Winkelman to stress ticket sales at the Chamber noon meeting. Mayor Grimsmo st. ted he would arrive late at the banquet because he had to c nvene the Board of Review meeting at the City Hall. Harv y Kendall and Joel Winkelman volunteered to be greeters. Jo 1 Winkelman suggested the possibility of printed programs including a recap of the year's development activities i Monticello. Don Smith reported Lynn Smith would not b present at the banquet, Mayor Grimsmo was asked to pres nt the montage. The committee suggested gratis invi ations be extended to Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Langhaug, ruce Carlson, and Jim Luchine. Mayor Grimsmo suggest d Erik Fjerdingstad be seated at the banquet head tabl . 4. Reports. Accepted by the committee. ..... 5. Other Business. Don Smith reported he had spoke with Jack Peach regarding FSI expansion. Mr. Peach state four major reasons for the Big Lake expansion. 1. Rail access plus UPS 0 t of St. Paul. 2. Construction of a steel building (warehouse and shipping), not suitable for construction next to the Monticello concrete office facilit . 3. High volume of semi-tru k traffic. 4. No complaints of the City of Monticello or the IDC. ~ . . . IDC Minutes - 5/15/86 Other committee members also tated they had talked with Mr. Peach. The general fee1i,g of the IDC was not to be anti-Big Lake, however, hoped the City of Monticello would not consider a second mortgag as a financial tool for economic development. Joel Winkelman announced the hamber of Commerce luncheon meeting at 12:00 noon, today, at the new Monticello-Big Lake Community Nursing Home.
