City Council Ordinance 84ORDINANCE AMENDMENT
The City Council of Monticello hereby ordains that the following
Zoning Ordinance Sections pertaining to sign regulations be amended:
SECTION 10-2-2
INFORMATIONAL/DIRECTIONAL SIGN: Any on -premise sign giving information
to employees, visitors, or delivery vehicles but containing no adver-
tising. May include name of business but must predominantly repre-
sent a directional or information message.
SECTION 10-3-9
(B) PERMITTED AND PROHIBI'T'ED SIGNS:
2. Prohibited Signs:
(h). Advertising signs of 199 square feet or less in
area, except that those signs which were in place
on or before 8/15/75 may continue as a non -conforming
use.
(Former item (h) and subsequent provisions should
be renumbered accordingly).
(C) GENERAL PROVISIONS:
4. The temporary use of search lights, banners, pennants, and
similar devices shall require a permit. The permit shall
be issued for a maximum period of ten (10) days with a
minimum period of one hundred eighty (180) days between
consecutive issuance of such permits for any property. The
permit shall be prominently displayed during the period
of validity. Use of portable signs shall be restricted to
information only and may not exceed four (4) square feet
(no advertising).
