Joint meeting of Village Council and Planning Commission at 8:00 F.M.
on September 16, 1971.
Councilmen present: Ron Schleif, Bill Sandberg, James Maus, Dick
Martie, Walter Ma.rkling.
Planning Commission present: Fred Tonel, Father P. Gearty, Bob Davis,
Dale Lungwitz, Jay Miller.
Others present: Bill Elliott, Con Johnson, Roy Lauring, Marty Kjellberg.
Tom Chock appeared before council to request Hermit to bi.illd 7arage
for his apartment house to be placed 5 feet from back lot line. No
action taken rending investination.
Council and Planning Commission discussed d.oTFmtoi-m improveme�E of
streets as it ties in with storm sewer nm -gram to meet 2elb assessment
requirements.
Major concern for downtown development requires parking lots and traffic
flow control. Current 701 program designated for down town planning
and zoning.
Housing and Redevelopment Authority should be the vehicle for providing
federal funds for downtown development.
Suggested that low cost stop gap street improvement be done to give
time for towntown planning and to place storm sewer on referendum for
approval to general levy.
Planning Commission to emphasize downtown planning in their program.
Motion by James Maus, seconded by `-falter Darkling to accept bid for
new village truck as Presented by Gould Chevrolet to be equipped
with a 7 foot LaHass dump box at cost of $7365.54 plus $55.00 for
options. Carried all in favor.
Motion to adjourn by Walter Darkling, seconded by James Daus. So
ordered.
