Regular meeting ibf the village council held this date in the village hall.
1,11 em b e r s present- Bergstrom., Adams, 11adsen ., Kamer and S-vranson. Absent- ITIone.
Minutes of the meetings of Aug. 3., 17 and 211 were approved as read;
N. Massie requested putting A. Hanjarth on full time as villeage maintainence employee.
Tabeled until next month.
A report was recieved that the John Burns residence on E. Broadway is not connected
to the village sei-,-age system. Lotion by Swanson to irwite to RL-. Burns notifying him
that he has 10 days to show the council a grittt-en contract showing that he intends
to connect to the village y i

The state health department has notified N. Mlassie Vrlat our village dump must be
burried and that it is near full, having only 17 feet remaining on the south ehd
before being, filled. Motion by Kasper to put an ad inthe paper informngthat the
villa 'r re is interested in purchasing 5 to 10 acers of land sutable for dump grounds.
Seconded by Swanson and car.-ied.
A complaint was recieved again of E. Bland Ifiaving junk piled along side of his garage.
A. McIntire was instructed to contact him and give InLa one week to clean this up.
A letter was recieved from tie fire department inviting the voLmcil to their meeting
September 21 in the village hall.
Lotion by Madsen that V -ie village pay 0`1115-00 of the additional cost in connecting
the Dr. Smorstok residence tothe village sewage system, and -Un.-,-t Dr. Smorstok and
Ih?. Brenteson decide beti--,Teen then w -ho is responsable for the remaining cost. Seconded
by Kasper and carried. Adams voting no.
I-I'ayor Bergstrom explained the present condition of, the village well and informed
the council that there is a hole in the caseing at about 135 feet deep and that the
only way of repairing it is to insert a 6inch caseing inside the old flinch cais3lzig
The council agreed thatthe old well should be rfhpaired and that -we should check
into the drilling of a new well. Motion by Adams to contact Tri State Drilling Co..,
McCarthy Well Co. and Bergerson Caswell Co. to come out and give us an estimate and
view points on drilling a new well. Seconded by Kasper and carried.
Motion by Kasper to t-^ansfer $1,000.00 from the water to the waterworks sinking
fund., and $6,000.00 from the liquor to the General improvement fund and to tenew
the general improvement find cirtificates of deposit in the amount of $5.,000.00
for six mont'Is. Seconded by Madsen and carried.
Miotion by Kasper to raise the water rates effective Oct. 1 in accordinance with the
engineers reccorm-Lendations as follows: 0 to 400 cf. $6.00 nininilzri; 400 to 4000 cu. ft.
0.270 per 100 cu, ft,* 4000 cu. ft. and over 0.220 per 100 cu. ft.. Seconded by
Swanson and car---ied unananously.
Elotion by &-anson to discontinue the services of Nalco 6hemical Co. Seconded by
Adams and carried.
Motion by Swanson to pay the bills as read. Seconded by Adams and carried.
Kotion by Kasper to purchase a po-LaroicL camara., case and assessories frog A, I -Martin
for $100.00 to be used for police work. SeconQed by St,ranson and carried.
