Regular meeting of the Village Council held this time and date in the Village
Hall. Members present: Mayor Erlandson, Councilmen Kasper, Sandberg, Topel, &
Schaffer. Absent: Hone. Minutes of the meeting for April 18, 1967 and April
259 1967 read and approved.

Mr. Vigen of the Park Committee discussed with Council the need for more playground
equipment and ;picnic tables in the Village Turk. He also stated that the playground
equipment should be inspected as soon as possible. Motion by Councilman Kas-oer to
authorize Ir. Vigen and 111r. LaBree to inspect the ,playground equipment for safety
factors and correct same ,if need be. They are also to :Hake a, list of new items
needed and submit the cost for these at the next council meeting for approval.

Motion by Councilman Schaffer to authorize Mr. Jack Hiltz, representing North Oaks
Properties, to construct an 8 -unit apart.nent house, 40' by 84' on Lots 1 and 2.
Block 12,Lower Monticello, providing that Mr. Hiltz circulate a petition in the
surrounding area and no complaints are filed against it. Seconded by Councilman
Sandberg and carried.
Motion by Gouncilman Kasper to approve of the yearly $50.00 clothing allowance
for Art McIntire, Chief of Police, Seconded by Councilman Topel and carried.
Mr. ?duller of Rieke, Carroll, and Muller, Consulting Engineers, :resented to
Council a plan for a proposed sand grit chamber for the disposal plant at a
cost of about $8290.00., Council decided to table the above firm's proposed
offer and call in Thore Meyer Associates to see ghat cost their firm could come
up with on this project.
Motion by Councilman Kasper to amend Village Ordinance, Number 1379 Section 14-1,
Bart A.l, to read 'two side yards are required., width of not less than ten (10)
feet from the foundation to the -lot line on the resident side and not less than
five (5) feet from the eave to the lot line on the garage side.' Motion seconded
by Councilman Topel and carried.
Motion by Councilman Kasper to acorove of a building permit for Mr. Thomas Miertz
to build an addition to his house, 10' by 22' on Lot A,Block E, 4.C. Riggs
addition to the townsite of Lo er Mont' cello. ad Lot 2, Block D, Lower Monticello.
Motion seconded by Councilman Topel an carried.
Motion by Councilman Topel to give Mr. R. Enga $200.00 for two week's earned
vacation pay that he had earned up through date of resignation. Motion seconded
by Councilman Kasper and carried.
Clerk Schnelle presented to Council a paper outling his proposals for action
needed to bring the water and sewer records up to date and to establish future
procedures for handling hhese accounts. Motion byCouncilman Kasper that,
effective with the water meter readings for the second quarter consumption, all
:peters will be read. and after that period no.more esmated billings gill be given

General Fund. Motion seconded by Councilman Kasper and carried.
Motion by Mayor Erlandson to pay Gould Bros Chevrolet for the new police car.

Motion by Councilman Kasper to approve of a building i'errnit for Mr. E. G. Strand
to build a. house 58' by 261 on the southerly 73" of lots 6, 7, and 8. of Block
26. Motion seconded by Councilman Topel and. ca: -rigid.
Motion by Councilman Topel to pay MW
r. m. Jongewl--lard. $40.00 for duties performed
as deputy clerk. Motion seconded by Councilman Schafferand carried.
Council discussed pay raises for Village Employees. Motion by Councilman Schaffer
to increase the hourly badges of the part-time employees for C'.he Village Police
Department and Municipal Liquor store to $2.15 per hour commencing the 1st of
June, 1967. Motion seconded by Councilman Kasper and carried..
Motion by Councilman Topel to raise 14r. Lindy Hawkins', Liquor Store Manager,
salary to $450.00 per month and Mr. Claude Johnston, Municipal Liquor Store
bartender, salary to $425-00 per month. The above mentioned salary raises will
be effective June 1, 1967. Motion seconded by Councilman Kasper and carried.
Motion by Councilman Schaffer to raise Mr. George Davis', Villa;._Ile�Ylaintenance
man, salary to "_!)3,;425.00 per month, effective June l, 1967. motion seconded by
Councilman Kasper and carried.
Motion by Mayor Erlandson to have the clerk call in the.Buffalo Bituminous Co.
