SPECIAL MEETING - MONTICELLO CITY COUNCIL
May 22, 1979 - 5:00 P. M.
Members Present: Arve Grimsmo, Dan Blonigen, Fran Fair, Ken Maus,
Philip White.
Members Absent: None.
Purpose of this meeting was to review a variance request on the
Certificate of Occupancy requirements by the Tom Thumb Superette at
the intersection of County Road 117 (Oakwood Drive) and State Highway 25.
Tom Thumb Superette would like to open up and have a variance for
60 days to put in the landscaping and curb barriers.
Discussion was held relative to the reasons for the request, along
with a possible proposal by Tom Thumb to eventually put in a
continuous portable type of curb. It was explained that if Tom
Thumb were eventually going to make this proposal, it would necessi-
tate a variance hearing on its own.
A motion was made by Phil White, seconded by Fran Fair and unanimously
carried to grant a variance to the Tom Thumb Superette Store to allow
them to open up their facility and be issued a temporary Certificate of
Occupancy to August 1, 1979. A bond would have to be posted or other
suitable surety with the City of Monticello for $4,500 to cover the
uncompleted portions.
