City Council Minutes 04-16-1968 Special12:00 p.m.
April 16, 1968
Special meeting of the Village Council held this -time and date at the
Village Hall. Members present: Mayor Sandberg, Councilmen Kasper, Topel,
Schaffer, and Swanberg. Members absent: None.
Motion by Councilman Schaffer to amend motion dated March 12, 1968, to
adopt resolution adopting assessment for sanitary sewer extension along West
River Street from the corner of Chestnut Avenue to the -westerly village limits.
The amendment to be added to this motion dated March 12; 1968, is that the
annual assessment payments for those property owners who will be benefitted
from this improvement will be spread over a 22 year period of time and the rate
of interest to be charged will be 6 percent per annum. Motion seconded by
Councilman Kasper and carried. toting Yes: Mayor Sandberg, Councilmen Kasper,
Topel,,ichaffer, and Swanberg. Voting no: None.

Motion by Councilman Schaffer to approve of a building permit for Mr. Earl
Grreninger to build an addition 18'X24At oh his house located on Lots 1,2,
and 3, Block 4, Lower Monticello. Cost of permit $5.00. Motion seconded
by Councilman Kasper and carried. Voting yes: Mayor Sandberg, Councilmen
Kasper, Topel, Schaffer, and Swanberg. Voting no: None.
Motion by Councilman Topel-to approve.of a use permit for Mr. Don Granlund
to construct a wooden decorative fence approximately 48" high and. 24, long
along his north property line located on Lot 4 & 5, Mock 399 Upper Xonticello.
Moti _>n seconded by Councilman Schaffer and carried. Voting yes :E[ayor Sandberg
Councilmen Kasper, Topel, Schaffer, and Swanberg. Voting no: None.
Motion by Councilman Kasper to transfer $5000.00 from the Liquor Fund to
the General Fund. Motion seconded by Councilman Topel and carried. Voting
yes: Mayor Sandbe,g! Councilmen Kasper, Topel, Schaffer and Swanberg.
Voting no: None.°

Notion by Councilman Schaffer to appoint Mr. Fenno Eull as the Village
Dog Chtcher. Further that he be paid $5.00 for each dog he picks -up
in accordance with the Villa.gds dog ordinance. Motion seconded by Council.

Topel, Schaffer and Swanberg. Voting no: None.
Motion by Councilman Kasper to authorize the Mayor and Clerk -Treasurer
to sign a. contract for deed for the Village of Monticello,for the purchase
of the Floyd and Ethel Trunnell property (West 27.6 feet of Lot 9, Block
36, Upper Monticello). Motion seconded by Councilman Schaffer and carried.
Voting yes: Mayor Sandberg, Councilmen Kasper, Topel, Schaffer, and
Swanberg. Voting no: None.
