Villa e Hall for the Board of 'eview for the Village of ! onticello. Memh�ers
pr -.sent: I''layor Sandbe.cg, Councilmen Kasper, opel, Schaffer, and Swanbero . Members
absent: None. Further 11,11r. Lando Kirscht, Village Assessor, and Mr. Bernie MO.ttson,
were present.
Mrs. .dice Mfii.tchell and .1,r. & .mss. W. G. Vi ten reoue.sted ;n explanation as to
why their properties lost the homestead. classification for 1968. lair. Kirscht and
Mr. Mattson explained to the above citizens that if they had. not rented their domes
for the period that they were gone, they would have retained their homeste,-,.e?
clas si.f icy: tion . They further explainer to the parties concerned how the law reeds
on aroperty th4t is rented out January 2nd of any liven year.
Mr. '. ilbur Eck requested an explanation as to why his properties were assessed so
sigh. Mr. Kirscht and Mr. Mattson explained to +.-.e Cc.ancil ana *. Eck how they
arrived at the valuation o" his properties. The Council stated th�.t they telt
th -t the assessors h�:d. made a. true and fair valuation in assessing Mir. Eck's
properties.
Motion by Councilman Kasper to accept the Village Assessors valuation on
both personal anc-1 re. ,l property. 'Motion seconc Qd by Cnun cilrr^n Topel and carried.
Voting yes: Mayor Sandberg, Councilmen Kasper, Topel, Schaffer, and Swanberg.
Voting no: None.
