Our examination, except as noted below, was made in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards and accordingly included such tests of the accounting records and such other auditing procedures as we considered necessary in the circumstances. The audit for the year ended December 31, 1967 was conducted and reported on by other public accountants. We accepted their report as presented with two exceptions. 1. The village share of P.E.R.A. had not previously been shown as expense against operations as it occurred, nor was any liability recorded for same. We adjusted surplus for the prior years share. 2. Errors in wages paid during 1966 were carried as a liability even though the prior accountants advised write off of the errors. We adjusted surplus for this prior years error. In our opinion, subject to the above comments, the accompanying statement of assets, liabilities and surplus and related operating statement present fairly the financial position of the Monticello Municipal. Liquor Store at December 31, 1968 and the results of its operations for the year then ended, in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles.
