Dear Governor Ventura:
The Monticello Industrial Developtent Committee (IDC) cordially invites you to be the guest speaker at their
annual fund raiser banquet in October. The IDC is a volunteer organization with a membership often. These
individuals recognize the importance of industrial development to the City of Monticello and commit many hours
and energy toward business retention and expansion.
Historically, the fund raising event has become known for its networking opportunities and is attended by
approximately 120-140 business and civic leaders at a cost of $75 per ticket. The IDC seeks to obtain speakers
which will be a draw-name for the event. Some past speakers include John Gundhofer, President of US Bank; Dr.
• James Bensen, President of Betnidji State University; Charlie Herrmann, Vice President of Jostens; and Dr. George
Karvel, Chair of the MN Real Estate. The IDC recognizes the draw potential associated with the name "Governor
Ventura" and would anticipate the attendance numbers to far exceed previous years.
The banquet is scheduled for Tuesday, October 26, 1999, at the Monte Club in Monticello. However, in order to
accommodate your busy schedule we are open to three alternative dates: Tuesday, October 19; Thursday, October
21; or Thursday, November 4. The event begins with a social hour at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner and the
program. The guest speaker generally speaks between 20 to 30 minutes.

It is important for us to receive a commitment date by no later than July 31. The City of Monticello is located just a
few miles northwest of Maple Grove which makes the commitment an easy and quick commute. For further
questions and commitments, please contact Ollie Koropchak, Economic Development Director, at City Hall or call
her at 612-271-3208.
The IDC welcomes the opportunity to promote "Governor Jesse Ventura" as their banquet guest speaker for 1999.
Respectfully yours,
INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT COMMI TEE
