Box 337 6650 Saukview Drive St. Cloud, MN 56302-0337 Dear Tom: It was a pleasure to meet you and John on Wednesday. The Mayor and staff enjoyed hearing about D & L Custom Design's product line and your planned relocation expansion. Upon completion of our mini-tour of Monticello, we hope you agree the City of Monticello offers a diverse range of housing and other amenities to meet the needs of your employees and their families. i Enclosed is a list of Monticello industries, please feel free to contact them. The ones with an asterisk are those which received financial assistance. Also and as promised, is a list of lenders both local and some in St. Cloud. We look forward to visiting your production operation in St. Cloud in the very near future. Following our visit to St. Cloud, we should plan to meet with the property owner and building official. Based on the information received to date, the City of Monticello can offer D & L Custom Design a very attractive and competitive financial package. Again, thank you for calling our community and we'll see you in a week or so. In the meantime, please don't hesitate to call me at 612-271-3208, should you have questions. We're Open for business. Dear Mr. Lueders: As Caterpillar Paving Products, Inc. looks to the future and makes plans for expansion or relocation of its facilities, the City of Monticello is a must. Why consider Monticello? We're located along I-94 just a few minutes up the road from your existing facility, an easy westerly commute for your employees eliminating the congested inbound traffic and blinding morning sun. Additionally, Monticello's tax rate has a history of being consistently low compared to other communities. Dick, two local people have contacted me regarding Caterpillar's consideration to expand or relocate. The City of Monticello has land available with freeway exposure within the city limits. Unaware of your timing and the number of acres desired, perhaps another freeway site within the Orderly Annexation Area might be of more interest to you. As Caterpillar plans for its future growth and the City of Monticello plans for its future growth, perhaps it is wise to discuss these options. Enclosed is an industrial marketing brochure: Monticello -We're Open for Business. The map inside the brochure intentionally does not identify the industrial parcels in the Orderly Annexation Area. I encourage you to call my office at 271-3208, so we might discuss Caterpillar's future plans and how the City of Monticello can assist. I look forward to hearing from you. We're Opei- for business. Dear Monticello Business: Recognizing the importance of industrial development, the City of Monticello developed a new marketing brochure and plan. Development of the brochure is only one component of the overall marketing plan. The objective of the plan is to increase the local tax base. The most important component of the plan is the distribution of the brochure. First, brochures will be distributed to the local businesses. Secondly, a designated number of brochures will be mailed monthly to targeted industrial businesses, suppliers, and contract vendors and carried through with appropriate follow-up. Here's where you come in. As a business leader in our community, you are the City's best ambassador. It is a known fact, business referrals are the most effective. As you circulate in your everyday business environment, please promote Monticello as a place for industrial development. You need only to refer the name of the industrial business looking to expand or relocate to the Office of Economic Development, Ollie Koropchak, Telephone 612-271-3208 or E-mail okoropch@uslink.net. It's as simple as that. Enjoy the brochure, and thank you for being an industrial ambassador for the City of Monticello. Any questions or comments, please contact Ollie at 271-3208. We're Open for business. With warm regards, CITY OF MONTICELLO William Fair Mayor WF/RB:ok . c: File Roger Belsaas Mayor-elect Monticello City Hall, 250 E.
