City Council Minutes 03-11-2024 WorkshopMINUTES MONTICELLO CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP Monday, March 11, 2024 — 5 p.m. Academy Room, Monticello Community Center Present: Charlotte Gabler, Lloyd Hilgart, Lee Martie, and Sam Murdoff Absent: Tracy Hinz Others: Rachel Leonard, Angela Schumann, Matt Leonard, Sarah Rathlisberger, Tom Pawelk, Ron Hackenmueller, and Jennifer Schreiber 1. Call to Order Mayor Lloyd Hilgart called the workshop to order at 5 p.m. 2. The Pointes at Cedar Discussion Rachel Leonard, City Administrator, gave a brief history of the Pointes at Cedar project. She reviewed the vision and previously authorized work that has taken place, including hauling of material and division of land. Ms. Leonard requested feedback from the City Council on the project and whether they wanted to continue with the current plan or make revisions. The City Council discussed items of the project that included: Removal or vacation of Dundas Rd., vacant developable land, lake, park area, density, etc. The council noted that they would like to continue with the current plan with the possibility of making some revisions as the plan moved along. There appeared to be agreement among council members that Dundas Road should be vacated, however, there wasn't a commitment for removal. Removal entirely would depend on costs. They would like to see the first round of improvements move forward, including the lake, trails, and biomes. In addition, they would like to see lighting be a part of this first phase and they prefer that the private property in the project area be developed first, before city -owned property. This was a workshop; therefore, no council action was taken. 3. Adjournment By consensus, the meeting was adjourned at 6:20 p.m. Recorder: Jennifer Schrei er r r City Council Special Meeting Minutes — rch 11, 2024 Approved: r f" Attest: City dministrator City Council Special Meeting Minutes — March 11, 2024
