Approval of the minutes of 6/14/22 Board Meeting 2. Library Report(s) (Marla) 3. GRRL Update(s) (Ryan) 4. Old Business— Building issues a. Gardening and Landscaping plan (Linda McDermott). Polinator-friendly perennials planted with some to spare in case they don't make it. More funding and want to continue the same theme down the block. b. Painting of the doors by the front entry —owned by Excel Energy? Still no word here? c. Collaboration between us and Community Center with Raptor Center program on August 30. We had 77 people come all ages. d. New roof put on in August. Flashing is ordered, but not in the original color (burgundy). as it was not available anymore. We will be getting it in an Ash Gray color. e. Summer Reading program successful. Participant totals were: 106 teens (12-18), 540 kids (ages 3-12), and 97 Read to Me (ages 0-3). Total participants = 743! Not quite to 2019 numbers, (1159 total) but much closer than last year (377). 5. New Business — a. We hired a new Library Aide b. Collaboration between us and Community Center with Grandparent's Day program on Sept. 15. More programs like this to come —including St. Patrick's Day. c. Planning for additional shelving (Jeff Jansen, local cabinet maker will make us 2 shelving units for our kids books for $2200). Also needing new carpet in the future, but aware that a new boiler is also needed. Might have to prioritize. d. Fall Book Sale is October 6-8, 2022 6. Next Library Board Meeting — December 13 @ 5:30 p.m. In response to COVID-19 and pursuant to Minnesota Statute Chapter 12. Emergency Management, Governor Walz declared a state of emergency. In accordance with the state of emergency and Minnesota Statute Chapter 13D.021, the Monticello Library Board and GRRL staff will participate in the meeting by telephone or other electronic means rather than being personally present at the regular Monticello Public Library location.
