a. Gardening and Landscaping —Winter pots —too late now, but can we get the same
lighted spruce pots like the rest of the city for next winter? Can it /Should it come
out of our budget?
b. Painting of the doors by the front entry —Finally! Got done this fall. Looks great.
c. Planning for additional shelving (Jeff Jansen, local cabinetmaker, is making us 2
shelving units for our kids books for $2200). Not here yet. Waiting for an invoice.
5. New Business —
a. We hired a new Library Assistant —Karen Weeres, who starts tomorrow (12/14)
is transfer from Waite Park.
b. Winter Reading Program for teens and adults starts Jan. 3. "Read for a Better
World" is the theme. Monticello Friends will purchase prizes (2 Keurig machines
and some gift cards) for winners.
c. Also needing new carpet in the future, but aware that a new boiler is also needed.
Might have to prioritize.
d. Spring Book Sale is late March or early April-- not sure on dates yet.
e. Locally Growin' fundraising (March): we plan on purchasing STEM kit supplies
and asking for matching funds from area organization like the Lions, the VFW
and the Rotary.
f. Presentation to the Monticello City Council on Nov. 30 (PowerPoint slides)
g. Board appointments—Joan's term is ending on 12/31 /22. Vote to continue?
