Quarter: April -June Year: 2022 Statistics As of May 31, 2022, the Monticello Public Library circulation was at 56,540. March's circulation was at 12,802, April's was 11,349, and May's was 10,843. We had our first positive overall change YTD since before the pandemic (+0.3%). Good news! Programs Legacy: Book Arts with Marie Olofsdotter, Mary Cassanova at Little Mountain Elementary school. Author Lorna Landvik; Spoken Word through Hip Hop; Joan Jacobson's Art Class; and Pint Sized Polkas have all made visits with great turnouts. Walk & Roll, held on 6/11/22 was great! An estimated 175 families stopped by to get information about the SRP, and the library itself. Our Friends of the Library volunteered to staff a tent along the route and we had help from staff and our Expo Kit that made it a very worthwhile event. We also made a school visit to Monticello Middle School where we signed up close to 100 students with new library cards. Building/Maintenance Issues We are still waiting to hear from Xcel Energy to see if we can paint the remaining green doors located just to the left of our front entrance. Obviously, we are past painting season, but hopefully someone will be able to finish the burgundy paint job in the sag summer. We will be working with the city and a Master Gardener with the landscaping and gardening issues on the library grounds, and those surrounding the library including the raised beds on Walnut Street. The planters got planted, but the one sitting behind the sculpture bench still needs to be moved. It was not planted. We need to address the hydrangea bushes as well. They need to be deadheaded in the spring. Staffing Update We have hired a new Library Assistant to replace Cheryl Johnson, who transferred to the Becker location. Our new assistant is Liz Hittle, who started on 5/5/22. We are now on the lookout for a new Aide. Deborah Whitmore left in May because her husband got a work transfer to the metro area. The position was posted in late May, is now closed, and we hope to start interviews next week or soon after. &RARY RIVER REGIONAL ".,
