December’s circulation was at 8,634, January’s was 10,648, and February’s was 10,475. We dipped below our previous year’s percentage by 2.0%. Our year-end total for 2022 was 138,428, with juvenile print being the most circulated category. Programs Legacy: David Malmberg, guitarist at the senior center had 64 in the audience. We had an author visit: cookbook author, Patrice Johnson; and two artisan programs from Rum River Arts (watercolor winter cardinal) and Modern tapestry from the Minnesota Textile Center. All had full class registration. We had one more scheduled, but we had to postpone it due to inclement weather. The Warp and Weave class for teens will take place in May. We welcomed back our Book Club, who now meet monthly on the Second Thursday of the month, led by patron volunteer Ben Lundeen. We’ve had a lot of interest in this, and we’re glad to have it back! Building/Maintenance Issues If we ever see spring again, Master Gardener, Linda McDermott will be tending to the the landscaping and gardening plans on the library grounds, and those surrounding the library including the raised beds on Walnut Street. The pots outside of our space will be needing planting and we hope to be on the schedule for the downtown’s other pots in front of the city buildings. Other than a few lights out here and there, and the front door not latching correctly, we’ve had a pretty maintenance-free winter. The city has done an amazing job keeping our parking lots and sidewalks clear, despite the never-ending snowfalls. Staffing Updates We are fully staffed at the moment, other than covering for PTO and some (hopefully) short-term Leaves of Absence.
