2023 Meetings
Tuesdays at 5:30 pm
December 12
Quarter: July-Sept.
Year: 2023
Statistics
As of Aug. 31, 2023, the Monticello Public Library circulation was at
94,180. June’s circulation was at 13,459; July’s was 12,698; and
August’s was 13,259. We dipped below 2022’s YTD percentage by
2.4%. Summer Reading Program was great this year. We had a total of
891 participants from ages 0-18 (an increase of 62 from last year.) A
total of 664 teen reading slips were submitted; and a total of 1817
slips were completed by the 3-12 age group. That’s a grand total of
13,069 hours of reading completed by Monticello Library kids this
summer. That’s amazing!
Programs
Legacy: The Great Brodini brought his magic show to the Community
Center with 56 people in attendance; Skally Line (A musical duo) and
Compass Artist Danielle Daniels came in July; CLIMB Theatre brought a
performance of The Ant and The Grasshopper back over to the
Community Center in August. We love doing these joint programs over
at the Community Center. We have one more in October, and one in
December over at the Senior Center.
Take & Makes continue to be popular, and so do our ProCRAFTinators
programs.
I have started institutional delivery at both Monticello Care Center
(CentraCare) and St. Benedict’s. So far the delivery has been pretty
easy to manage and is well appreciated.
Building/Maintenance Issues
Our boiler was installed over the course of about 3 weeks in
July/August. Thanks to all who did all the work. We’ve had a couple
key replacements.
Staffing Updates
We are still down an aide, and lost another one in August. Our first aide
opening we were not able to fill it with the candidates we got in our
pool. We are hoping with this next round, we’ll be able to find a better
fit. We are being flexible with our shift with both of these positions. Interviews will start next
week.
