RESOLUTION NO. 2026-12
ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE MONTICELLP PUBLIC LIBRARY SITE
IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the following improvements for the Monticello
Public Library Site Improvements Project; which include:
• Reclaim and pave the parking lot surface.
• Replacement of the driveway aprons onto Walnut Street and 6th Street.
• Spot replacement of concrete curb and gutter and sidewalk.
• Re -stripe parking lot
• Turf restoration.
WHEREAS, bids were received, opened and tabulated, and the following eleven bids were found to
comply with the advertisement for bids. With Alternate Bid No. 1 and Alternate Bid No. 2 included, bids
were as follows:

WHEREAS, a bid from Knife River Corporation -North Central in the amount of $299,675.40 for the
total bid for construction including Alternate Bid No. 1 and Alternate Bid No. 2of said improvements for
the Monticello Public Library Site Improvements Project, in accordance with the approved plans and
specifications and advertisement for bids, is the lowest responsible bidder and shall be hereby accepted.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO:
1. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a
contract with said bidder for the construction of said improvements for an on behalf of the
City of Monticello.
2. The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders
the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposit of the successful bidder and the
next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been executed.
