Approval is contingent upon meeting the requirements listed below. A copy of the approved plans and this report must be retained at the project location. INSPECTIONS: This project will be inspected by the local municipality. The contractor/installer must obtain all required inspection permits from the Monticello Building Official, Robert Ferguson. All plumbing installations must be tested and inspected in accordance with the requirements of the Minnesota Plumbing Code. No plumbing work may be covered prior to inspection. REQUIREMENT(S): All plumbing shall be installed in accordance with Chapter 4714. All pipe, fittings, traps, fixtures, materials, and devices shall be listed or labeled by a third -party listing agency and comply with the applicable standards referenced in the code (see Sections 301.2 and 1701.1). 2. The re -use of existing fixtures is prohibited unless the fixtures conform to the current Minnesota Plumbing Code (see part 4714.0101, subparts 3 and 4). 3. A single Double Check Valve Assembly is installed on the RO water supply to the misting system (PO 12) and to the produce case cleanout system, as shown on Diagram 8/P I. Each point of use shall be separately protected where potential cross -contamination of individual units exists (see Section 602.2). In order to keep the design with one backflow preventer as you have shown, you must verify each system discharges through a code approved air gap constructed in accordance with Table 603.3.1. In addition, you must verify the existing reverse osmosis system does not serve any unprotected non -potable water systems. 4. If the floor drains shown on riser 3/P 1.1 are used as receptors, then they must be individually vented. All floor drains except emergency floor drains, tell -tale floor drains, and floor drains not used as receptors must be individually vented. The trap to vent distance for individually vented floor drains must meet Table 1002.2. All other floor drains must be installed within 25 feet of a vented branch or main (see Sections 418.2, 901.2, and 1002.2). 5. The vents for the new lavatories in the customer restrooms are not shown on the plumbing riser diagrams. Fixture vents must rise within 45 degrees from the vertical at least 6 inches above the fixture flood level before offsetting horizontally or connecting to a branch vent (see Section 905.3). 443 Lafayette Road N., St. Paul, MN 55155 • (651) 284-5005 • www.dli.mn.gov An Equal Opportunity Employer Walmart 3624 Remodel Plumbing Plan No. PB-R2504-0062 Page 2 of 3 06/13/2025 6. Trap primers must have an ASSE 1013 reduced pressure principle backflow preventer; an ASSE 1020 pressure vacuum breaker; or an ASSE 1056 spill -proof vacuum breaker (see Table 603.2). Trap primers with integral backflow prevention are permitted only when equipped with one of the above -listed backflow preventers. 7. Insert devices for floor drain trap seal protection are not permitted (see Sections 315.2 and 418.2). 8. Changes in direction in drainage piping must be made by appropriate use of wyes and bends (see Section 706.0). Sanitary tees are not allowed for vertical to horizontal or horizontal to horizontal direction changes. 9. The lavatories must have ASSE 1070/ASME A112.1070/CSA B 125.70 mixing valves or an ASSE 1084 water heater limiting the hot water temperature to 110 degrees Fahrenheit or less. Faucets must limit flow to 0.5 gpm at 60 psi. Metering faucets may not exceed 0.25 gallons per cycle (see Sections 407.2 and 407.3). Accessible lavatories must meet Section 403.0. 10. Valves should be installed permitting the water supply to each individual fixture to be shut off without disrupting any other portion of the building. An accessible control valve shall be installed ahead of each slip joint connection at a plumbing fixture (see Section 606.5). 11. Each horizontal drain branch on or below the floor level of the building drain shall be provided with a cleanout at its upper terminal with the following exceptions (see Section 707.4): a. A cleanout is not required if the branch is less than five feet unless it serves sinks or urinals. b. A cleanout is not required on a drain that is 72 degrees or less from the vertical unless it serves kitchen sinks or urinals. 12. A cleanout should be provided where new waste and vent piping connects with existing for testing. 13. PVC solvent weld joints must use ASTM F656 purple primer and ASTM D2564 cement per Section 705.6.2. 14. The water distribution system shall be disinfected per Section 609.9. 15. The plumbing system shall be tested in accordance with Sections 609.4 and 712.0. NOTE(S): 1. The scope of this project consists of remodeling an existing building. The plumbing installation includes floor drains, a flush valve water closet, four 3-station lavatories, two 2-station lavatories, two lavatories, and the potable water connection to a produce misting system. 2. The building is served by existing municipal sewer and water services. 3. The current Minnesota Plumbing Code, Chapter 4714, and related information can be found at: http://www.dli.nm. gov/business/plumbing-contractors/2020-minnesota-plumbing Authorization may be withdrawn if installation does not begin within one year. Additional requirements may result from changed conditions or additional information.
