RESOLUTION NO. PC-2026-21
RESOLUTION FINDING THAT THE PROPOSED ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN LAND FOR PUBLIC
WORKS FACILITY AND RIGHT OF WAY PURPOSES BY THE CITY OF MONTICELLO IS CONSISTENT
WITH THE CITY OF MONTICELLO'S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN — MONTICELLO 2040 VISION + PLAN
WHEREAS, the City of Monticello (the "City") proposes to purchase an approximately .71 acre
portion of certain property (the "Property") located on in the City of Monticello, Minnesota (the
"City"), and legally described in Exhibit A (PID 155500153300) attached hereto, for the purposes
of development of a public works facility and accompanying right of way; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, Section 462.356, subd. 2, requires the City Planning
Commission (the "Planning Commission") to review the proposed acquisition or disposal of
publicly owned real property within the City prior to its acquisition or disposal, to determine
whether in the opinion of the Planning Commission, such acquisition or disposal is consistent
with the City's Monticello 2040 Vision + Plan (comprehensive municipal plan (the
"Comprehensive Plan"); and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the proposed acquisition of the Property
and has determined that the Property is designated as "Mixed Neighborhood" within the City's
Comprehensive Plan, and;
WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan allows for the development of public and institutional
facilities within various land use designations and zoning districts to accomplish its goal of
providing well -maintained City facilities and services distributed equitably to all residents of
Monticello; and
WHEREAS, the City's purpose is to develop the Property as a public works facility consistent
with these goals and those for community facilities, and the proposed acquisition is therefore
consistent with the Comprehensive Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Planning Commission of the City of Monticello, that
the acquisition of the Property by the City is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan and will
promote the efficient community facilities and services of the City.

Minnesota.
