RESOLUTION 2026-35
ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE 2026 STREET IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the following improvements for the 2026 Street
Improvements Project in the River Mill neighborhood; which include:
• Edge mill and bituminous overlay
• Replace curb and gutter sections as needed and repair existing drainage issues
• Replace non -compliant ADA ramps
• Replace failing concrete sidewalk sections
• Replace manhole castings, rings, and gate valve covers as needed
• Turf restoration.
WHEREAS, bids were received, opened and tabulated, and the following five bids were found to
comply with the advertisement for bids. Bids were as follows:
• Omann Brothers Paving Inc. $795,808.22
• Asphalt Surface Technologies Corp. $812,905.65
• Capital Paving $854,165.50
• Knife River Corporation — North Central $854,165.50
• Duininck , Inc. $968,420.00
WHEREAS, a bid from Omann Brothers Paving Inc. in the amount of $795,808.22 for the total bid for
construction of said improvements for the 2026 Street Improvements Project, in accordance with the
approved plans and specifications and advertisement for bids, is the lowest responsible bidder and shall
be hereby accepted.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO:
1. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a
contract with said bidder for the construction of said improvements for an on behalf of the
City of Monticello.
2. The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders
the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposit of the successful bidder and the
next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been executed.
