RESOLUTION NO. 2026-26
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO
FINDING THAT THE CONVEYANCE OF CERTAIN PROPERTY
BY THE CITY OF MONTICELLO IS IN COMPLIANCE WITH
THE CITY'S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
WHEREAS, the City is the fee owner of property legally described as Lot 1, Block 1, Otter Creek
Crossing 7th Addition, Wright County, Minnesota (PID 155273001010) consisting of
approximately 9.7 acres ("City Property");
WHEREAS, the City Council is asked to convey the City Property to the Monticello Economic
Development Authority for purposes of developing a warehouse facility;
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, Section 462.356, subd. 2, requires the City Planning
Commission (the "Planning Commission") to review the proposed acquisition or disposal of
publicly owned real property within the City prior to its acquisition or disposal, to determine
whether in the opinion of the Planning Commission, such acquisition or disposal is consistent
with the City's Monticello 2040 Vision + Plan (the "Comprehensive Plan"); and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the proposed acquisition of the Property
and has determined that the Property is designated as "Light Industrial Park" within the City's
Comprehensive Plan, and zoned as 1-1, Light Industrial, and;
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the proposed conveyance of the Property as
it relates to the City's Comprehensive Plan.
WHEREAS, General Warehousing uses are permitted in the 1-1 zoning district compatible with
the Light Industrial Park designation; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission find that the proposed conveyance will support the
Monticello 2040 Vision + Plan goals and strategies for a strong and growing regional
employment center including a variety of economic sectors and a diverse mix of businesses and
industries.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Planning Commission of the City of Monticello,
Minnesota, that conveyance of the Property is found to be consistent with the City's
Comprehensive Plan.
ADOPTED this 2nd day of June, 2026, by the Planning Commission of the City of
Monticello, Minnesota.
