MINUTES
MONTICELLO LIBRARY BOARD
Monday, January 11, 1982 - 6:45 P.M.
Members Present:
Loren Klein, Donald Maus, Pat Schwarz, Irwin Kallin,
Joel Erickson, Marge Bauer.
Members Absent:
None.
1. Gene Walters of Walters Cabinets was present to briefly explain his
bid on the shelving, charging desk and tables for the new library.
He was asked by the board to submit another bid substituting solid
wood shelves for the 3/4" fiber care he had originally proposed.
It was also suggested that the shelves be constructed so that they
could be turned over, thereby taking care of any problem with warp-
ing. The base bid was $18,414.59.
Dave Bitner of Mid-America Systems gave a brief presentation on
their alternate bid of wood and steel combination shelving. It
was a minimum of 60 days for the shelving and 90 to 100 days for
the charging desk.
A motion was made to issue the contract to Gene walters changing
the shelves to all wood. The motion was seconded and passed.
2. Joel Erickson's term on the Library Board has expired. He does
not wish to serve another term but will serve until someone could
be found to replace him. Irwin Kallin also expressed his desire
to be replacen. It was suggested by Loren Klein that an ad be
placed in the paper soliciting people who may be interested.
