RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID,
AWARDING CONTRACT,
AND ORDERING PROJECT
KLEIN FARMS 4TH ADDITION
PROJECT 97-04C
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the improvement of Klein Farms 4th
residential subdivision, bids were received, opened, and tabulated according to law, and the
following bids were received complying with the advertisement:
Barbarossa & Sons, Inc. $1,135,720.57
LaTour Construction, Inc. $1,194,398.35
C.W. Houle, Inc. $1,207,024.35
S.J. Louis Construction, Inc. $1,235,077.93
Northdale Construction $1,240,751.99
Arcon Construction, Inc. $1,259,005.06
S.M. Hentges & Sons, Inc. $1,283,815.15
RKI $1,314,462.72
Landwehr Construction, Inc. $1,446,788.80
AND WHEREAS, it appears that Barbarossa & Sons, Inc., of Osseo, Minnesota, is the lowest
responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, the Petitioner, Anthony Emmerich, has waived the public hearing requirement
pursuant to the public improvement process. Said waiver is identified in the development
agreement governing development of Klein Farms 4th Addition.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF MONTICELLO,
MINNESOTA:
The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with
Barbarossa & Sons, Inc., of Osseo, Minnesota, in the name of the City of Monticello
for the improvement of Klein Farms 4th Addition according to the plans and
specifications therefor approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the
City Clerk.
2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders
the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder
and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
Adopted by the City Council this 8th day of September, 1997.
