RESOLUTION ORDERING PREPARATION
OF REPORT ON REALIGNMENT OF AND IMPROVEMENTS TO
ROADWAY ALONG THE HIGHWAY 25 CORRIDOR
BETWEEN I-94 AND SCHOOL BOULEVARD
WHEREAS, the existing road system serving the Highway 25 corridor between
School Boulevard and I-94 may be insufficient to adequately support existing and
future traffic demands; and
WHEREAS, a need exists to acquire land associated with roadway realignments
on a timely and efficient basis; and
WHEREAS, land acquisition cannot occur until realignment locations are
identified; and
WHEREAS, the City of Monticello proposes to realign and improve road systems
along and near the Highway 25 corridor between I-94 and School Boulevard and to
assess the benefited property for all or a portion of the cost of the improvement
pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 429.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
MONTICELLO, MINNESOTA:
That the proposed improvement be referred to Bret Weiss of Orr-Schelen-Mayeron
& Associates for study and that he is instructed to report to the Council with all
convenient speed advising the Council in a preliminary way as to whether the
proposed improvement is feasible and as to whether it should best be made as
proposed or in connection with some other improvement, and the estimated cost of
the improvement as recommended.
