MINUTES
MONTICELLO LIBRARY BOARD MEETING
Monday, April 17, 1989
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Ed Salberg.
Mffinbers Present: Ed Salberg, Mary Jane Puncochar, Dr. Donald Maus,
Marguerite Pringle, Pat Schwarz, and Librarian Marge Bauer
A motion was made by Mary Jane Puncochar to accept the minutes of the
August 29, 1988, Ineeting and was seconded by Marguerite Pringle.
New Business
1. The Board considered a sign for the library. Marge Bauer distributed
quotations and a sketch of a proposed sign from Dave Kern. The Board
viewed the possible sites in front of the library and then agreed to a
painted plywood sign, 4'x8', l~unted on stucco pillars set on a concrete
slab. This will be placed on a site at the librarian's discretion
subject to City codes and will say "Monticello Public Library" and will
give the library's open hours.
2.
The Board approved the purchase of a wooden TV stand with doors and steel
castors at a cost of $235 and a wooden book cart for use at the
circulation desk at a cost of approximately $350, both to be built by Jim
Ennis. Marge Bauer will get a definite price on the book cart.
3. The Board approved the purchase of two rubber floor mats, 36" x 144", at
a cost of $122.35 each. These will be used directly in front of and
behind the circulation desk to reduce wear on the carpeting.
4. The Board approved the purchase of a freestanding metal sign for the
entry way to show the library open sign. It will cost $238 which
includes changeable letters and will have an acrylic cover at an extra
cost of $560.
5. The Board accepted with regret Marguerite pringle's resignation effective
ilmnediately. She will be moving to Flor ida in June.
6. The meeting was adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
