City Council Resolution 1987-24RESOLUTION 87-24 RESOLUTION DECLARING COSTS TO BE ASSESSED AND ORDERING PREPARATION OF PROPOSED ASSESSMENT WHEREAS, a contract has been let and the costs determined for the improvement of State Highway 25 between Sandberg Road and River Street, 5th Street between Pine and Maple Street, Chestnut Street between Broadway and River Street, Minnesota Street between 7th Street and I-94, Linn Street between 6th Street and Lucius Johnson property, Locust Street between 5 1/2 Street and 6th Street, and Cedar Street between 6th Street and Burlington Northern Railroad, by construction of new road surfaces, curb and gutter, sidewalk, storm sewer, water, sanitary sewer, and appurtenant work, and the contract price for such improvements is $367,366.00 and the expenses incurred or to be incurred in the making of such improvements amount to $ 73,316.00 so that the total cost of the improvement will be $ 440,682.00 . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF MONTICELLO, MINNESOTA: 1. The portion of the cost of such improvement to be paid by the City is hereby estimated to be $ 253,685.00 , and the portion of the cost to be assessed against benefited property owners is estimated to be $ 186,997.00 2. The City Administrator, with the assistance of the Consulting City Engineer, shall forthwith calculate the proper amount to be specially assessed for such improvement against every assessable lot, piece or parcel of land within the District affected, without regard to cash valuation, as provided by law, and he shall file a copy of such proposed assessment in his office for public inspection.
