ADOPTING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PLAN AND
DESIGNATION OF CHAMBER OF COMMERCE BUSINESS
AND INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE AS ADVISORY
TO THE CITY COUNCIL
WHEREAS, the City of Monticello is interested in encouraging well planned
economic development; and
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Economic Development has initiated
the Star Cities Program to help communities prepare for and achieve
economic growth; and
WHEREAS, the Star Cities Program requires an Economic Development Plan
to be adopted by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the Star Cities Program requires the City Council to designate
an advisory organization for economic development= and
WHEREAS, the Chamber of Commerce Committee has been actively involved
with economic development; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY the City Council of Monticello, Minneso-ta
as follows:
1. To adopt the Economic Development Plan presented to the City
Council on January 25, 1982 by the Chamber of Commerce Business
and Industrial Development Committee.
2. To designate the Chamber of Commerce Business and Industrial
Development Committee to be advisory to the City Council on
economic development matters.
Motion to adopt resolution was made by Council member Fran Fair-and
seconded by Ken Maus.
Voting in favor: Ken Maus, Fran Fair, Arve Grimsmo, Dan Blonigen, and Phil White.
Opposed: NONE
WHEREUPON SAID RESOLUTION WAS DECLARED DULY PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 25th
day of January, 1982.
