RESOLUTION
4JHEREAS, Northern States Power Company has indicated a desire to erect a
fence around their property located along West County P,oad 39 for security
reasons; and
WHEREAS, the City of Monticello is the owner of the abutting property to
the east of Northern States Powers and has a salt bin shed located near the
proposed fence line; and
WHEREAS, the City of Monticello is desirous of enlarging the area around
its salt bin shed for the purpose of equipment mobility prior to a fence being
constructed; and
4JHEREAS, the City of Monticello is the owner of a parcel of land approxi-
mately 30' wide abutting the west property line of Northern States Powers on
West County Road 39;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF MONTICELLO that an
exchange of land between the City of Monticello and Northern States Power be
proposed whereby the City of Monticello would deed approximately 8,300 square
feet located adjacent to ~!orthern States Powers westerly property line,
described as follows:
That part of Lot C of the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter
of Section 10, Township 121, Range 25, Wright County, Minnesota
described as follows: Beginning at the southwest corner of said
Lot C; thence east on the south line of said Lot C a distance of
32.01 feet; thence northeasterly deflecting 65 degrees, 26 minutes,
30 seconds left 330.07 feet; thence west on a line parallel with
the south line of said Lot C a distance of 30.04 feet to the northwesterly
line of said Lot C; thence southwesterly along said northwesterly line 330.90
feet to the point of be inning. Subject to an easement for County Highway
No. 39 over the southerly 33.00 feet thereof.
Reserving unto the City of Monticello a permanent easement for
public utility purposes over, under and across that part of
Lot C of the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 10,
Township 121, Range 25, Wright County, Minnesota described as follows:
Commencing at the southwest corner of Lot C; thence northeasterly along
the northwesterly line of said Lot C a distance of 36.37 feet to the north
right-of-way line of Wright County No. 39 and the point of beginning
of the parcel to be described; thence east along said north right-of-way
line 31.8 feet; thence northwesterly deflecting 110 degrees, 00 minutes,
left 35.29 feet to the northwesterly line of Lot C; thence southwesterly
along the northwesterly line of Lot C a distance of 33.68 feet to the
point of beginning.
Said permanent easement contains 486 square feet more or less.

In exchange for approximately 6,300 square feet of Northern States
Power's property described as follows:
That Part of Lot C of the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast
Quarter of Section 10, Township 121, Range 25, Wright County,
Minnesota, described as follows: Commencing at the southwest
corner of said Lot C; thence east along the south line of said
Lot C a distance of 32.01 feet; thence northeasterly deflecting
65 degrees, 26 minutes, 30 seconds left, a distance of 330.07 feet
to the point of beginning of the parcel to be described; thence
continuing northeasterly along the prolongation of the last
described line 120.43 feet to a point on a line parallel with and
16.5 feet Southerly of, as measured at a right angle to, the
Northerly line of said Lot C; thence southeasterly along said
parallel line 45.23 feet to a point on a line drawn PJorth at a
right angle to the South line of said Lot C from a point on said
South line distant 255.80 feet from the southwest corner of said
Lot C; thence south on said line 83.00 feet; thence west,
parallel with the south line of said Lot C, 86.66 feet to the
point of beginning.
The City Administrator is hereby authorized to have a deed prepared
subject to the approval of the exchange of land by Northern States Power's
Board of Directors.
