WORKSHOP: EDA /City Owned Property Tour
A. REFERENCE & BACKGROUND
The EDA and Council members have been invited to attend a tour of publicly owned
properties held by either the EDA or City.
Staff has prepared a route which will include the following areas:
Downtown (Blocks 34, 52, Cedar Street, Fred's Auto)
Otter Creek Business Park
Outlot A, County Club Manor
Jefferson Commons
Cedar Street Area, south of 1 -94
The goal of the tour will be to gain clarity on each of these areas as related to the potential
marketing and sale. WSB Market Matching will be preparing and /or updating individual
sales sheets for properties based on the outcomes of this tour.
Staff will be looking to ascertain from the Council and EDA:
1. General disposition on willingness to sell
2. Potential/desired site uses
3. General valuation information
4. Sale of individual site versus pairing with additional property /projects
5. Desire to secure brokering /real estate representation services
a. At present, only Jefferson Commons is under contract with a real estate broker
B. ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS
At this time, staff is looking for direction and feedback only. Additional consideration for
action at a future Council or EDA meeting may be an outcome of the meeting.
C. STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff, including the Market Matching team, are looking to the EDA and Council members to
provide feedback to support marketing efforts on the noted publicly owned properties.
