The Commission discussed the applicant interviews and felt that, in general, the successful
applicant should have the following goals and qualities:
• Hasa genuine desire to help the community and only has the good of the community in
mind.
• Not looking to volunteer for personal gain.
• Has no hidden agenda.
As in the past, the Commission discussed the benefits of having a well - rounded Commission
comprised of members having different backgrounds and viewpoints, and that it would best serve
the Police Advisory Commission and the City to avoid having multiple people with law
enforcement backgrounds on the Commission. As such they thought applicant McCarty was
likely the best applicant.
