1. Call to Order
Chair Brad Fyle called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. and declared a quorum present.
2. Consideration of approving minutes of October 15, 2014 PAC Meeting
BRAD FYLE MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE OCTOBER 15, 2014
REGULAR POLICE ADVISORY COMMISSION MEETING. MOTION SECONDED
BY JASON ROUBINEK. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY, 3 -0.
3. Consideration of adding items to the agenda
A. Speed limit signage on 7th Street West.
B. Additional law enforcement hours.
4. Wright County Sheriffs Office Updates /Q &A Session.
Lt. Sandin said the new record system will go live on April 21, 2015. The system is
running smoothly and they are really optimistic of the system's capabilities with more
accurate and true records.
Sgt. Anderson said he received an update from the detective division and they noted that
the Tri County Crime Lab is doing very well and getting results back quickly and they are
doing as good of a job as the BCA did before. Lt. Sandin said that it is a combined effort
between Anoka, Sherburne and Wright Counties noting that they just got certified and
can do basically everything the BCA can do and they have some top notch forensic
scientists. Lt. Sandin said that as an example when they send blood alcohol to the BCA it
was 4 to 6 weeks for results and now with the Wright County Crime Lab the results are
back within 7 days so it is a much quicker process.

6. Discussion of added items.
A. Speed limit signage on 7th Street East: There is a discrepancy on the speed limit
signage on 7th Street with one way signed for 30mph and the other way signed for
35mph. Wayne Oberg will have the Public Works Department look into the
appropriate speed limit for 7th Street and sign the street accordingly. Sgt. Anderson
will also contact the Street Superintendent to discuss this issue.
B. Additional law enforcement hours: Wayne Oberg said that the contracted sheriff
hours approved for 2015 are the same as in 2014, which is 4 hours less than the 2013
contract. Sgt. Anderson said that they will take care of the calls and will handle it but
will plan to present the increased hours for next year's contract. Sgt. Anderson noted
that the extra 4 hours gives the officers the time to do the follow -ups as well as time
to be proactive rather than reactive. Lt. Sandin said that there is availability to bring
in 4 hours on Friday and Saturday night for an officer that's already out in South
Haven contracted for 2 hours so he is essentially a floater and has those additional
hours available. Brad Fyle said his thought is that as the town grows there's more
dollars coming in and that means more coverage is needed rather than waiting until
there is a jump in crime to increase hours. Tom Perrault said that Friday and
Saturday nights are important to have coverage. Sgt. Anderson said that when the
new system comes online he should be able to have more information about what
they do and be able to justify the additional 4 hours. Lt. Sandin said that by the July
meeting he should be able to have a handle on the new system and bring in the
computer to show the group how it works.
