AGENDA SUPPLEMENT
Agenda, Item 1. Review of commissions and commission appointments,
for 1976.
You have. already received a current list of com-
missions and commission members. In reviewing
these, it should be noted in some cases there
are more members than our ordinances provide
for and there are also some conflicts pertaining
to length of terms. Either the ordinance
should be changed or the commissions amended
to meet our ordinances.
Additionally, there may be some commissions
that no longer meet regularly, if at all, and
some thought might be directed to their elimination.
One thought might be to appoint all commission
members to annual terms except for the HRA
commission, which by statute provides for five
year terms. It may be argued that by the time
a commission member familiarizes himself with
the commissionts duties and purpose his term
is up. However., a member can be reappointed
for another term. It also allows a less active
member to be replaced in a relatively short time
ij- rather than waiting 3-$. years.
POSSIBLE ACTION: Recommendations ,for appointment
of commissions and members for 1976. This will
allow time for prospective members to be contacted
and greatly expedite this matter the first
meeting in January.
Agenda Item 2. Review of applicants for Liquor Store Manager.
Iam enclosing a list of applicants for the
position of liquor store manager..
POSSIBLE .ACTION: Attempt to narrow choice to
314 individuals and. then. council could inter-
view these applicanto.
Agenda Item 3. Review of wages, for 1076-
I:nclosed you will :find, the base salary schedule
for city employees for 1973-75.
Some consideration should be given to the possibility
of the cl ly picking up the entire group insurance'
costs for employees and increasing the coverage.

I have reviewed several insurance plans with
local agents and would recommend Bankers Life
Insurance should the benefits be increased.
Listed below is a schedule comparing our present
coverage with proposed coverage:
PROPOSED PRESENT
Life insurance $5,000 $5,000
Accidental death $5,000 -0-
dismemberment 2/3 income for 213 income for
26 weeks (max. 13 weeks (max.
$150/week). $50/week).
Hospital coverage $60 a day $4U a day
Major medical $250,000 $25,000
80% first 80% first
$2,000- 100% $5,000 - 100%
over $2,000 over $5,000
Maternity benefits payable under not payable under
major medical major medical -
allowance of $300
If the city were to increase the benefits and
pick up the entire insurance premium it would mean
an additional $37 per employee except for Walter
Mack, Alta Parnick, Karen Hanson and Mary Jo Quick,
who do not have their dependents covered and, there-
fore would not benefit by the city picking up
the entire tab.
POSSTBLE ACTION: Setting up wage scale effective
January 1, 1976 and decision on in:lurance coverage.
Agenda Item 4. Consideration of enunril review of all, Commercial,
bui9ding pro -mit, appliratinna.
Consideration should be given to council. review
of all building permit applications for commercial
usage. In this manner more assurance would be
given that applicable zoning and building regula-
tions are adhered to. Additionally, this would
make the council Immediately aware of future com-
mercial. development.
POSS1BLC ACTTONt Consideration of council review
of commercial building permits.
