Special meeting of the Ijillage Council called to order at 7:45 P.T4. ,
May 18, 1.971 in the Vi Hage Hall.
Present: R. Schle .f, T. Sandberg, F. T°artie, t'T.T-arkling, J. T4aus.
Dale Johnson, auditor; Tho -re 7eyer, engineer, Harold Pangs, K.
LaBau; Bob Davis, Planning Commission chairman; and Thr. Phil
ChenolonUh, fiscal consultant also in attendance.
The first order of business was the reviewal of the audit of 1070 with
Mr. Dale Johnson, representing the auditing firm of Gruys-Johnson, Assoc.
of Buffalo, Minnesota. A motion was made by ' salt T`fiarkling, with a second
by Dick ``lartie that the clerk was to follow the recommendations of the
auditor in certain procedures. In favor: Schleif, Sandberg, Martie,
Markling, Maus. Opposed: None. The auditor will check in the near
future with the clerk to see if the procedures are being exercised.
Motion made by James Maus, seconded by Irfalt T11arkling, that the divesting
of investments require the signature of both the clerk and the mayor.
These purchases should be on council action only, and the purchases made
by check only. In favor: Schleif, Sandberg, 11artie, Markling, Maus.
Opposed: None. Carried.
The village cash report was never presented to the council before printing
for approval.

Harold Bangs complained of water in his basement. There was discussion as
to the efficiency of the eouipment, and also having a stand-by unit in

Bob Davis cuestioned wT).ether the Council_ had given any thought to the leg-
islative bill recommending limitations on tax levies for fire protection,
etc. Thought it would be in the best interest of the community to make a
personal call to our legislators to vote it down.
Mr. Phil ChenoTa-ith presented his recommendations on the street and sewer
project. A hearing date is set for June 17th with a preliminary meeting
on the 7th of June.
