City Council Minutes 05-13-1980 I I I MINUTES SPECIAL MEETING - MONTICELLO CITY COUNCIL May 13, 1980 - 7:00 P. M. Members Present: Members Absent: Arve Grimsmo. Dan Blonigen, Fran Fir, Ken Maus, Phil White. Purpose of this special meeting was to conduct the annual Board of Review. Mr. Orland Kreitlow, with the Wright County Assessor's Office, reviewed the concerns expressed by the following individuals: Steve Johnson, Lester Anderson, Cindy Rasmussen, Lee Trunnell, Bill Thompson, Bob Mueller, John itchell, Doug Pitt, Bob Mosford, Dr. John Kasper. After review of the concerns expressed by the above individuals, adjust- ments were made on the following parce s: #155-010-071090 - Robert Mosford Concern was expressed with th valuation of Mr. Mosford's office building using a square foota e figure of $37.75. The classifica- tion system, as explained by r. Kreitlow, for office buildings put them in the same classifi ation as banks. Mr. Mosford questionned the rationale of including offices in the same cate- gory as banks, but felt that, if an adjustment were made to include his office building i the same construction quality per square footage valuation s the existing drive-in facility, he would be satisfied. It ap eared that Mr. Mosford's building was one of the highest assess d commercial buildings in the City of Monticello on a per s uare footage basis. A motion was made by Fran Fai , seconded by Ken Maus and unanimously carried to adjust the valuati n of Mr. Mosford's building from $37.75 per square foot to $28.00 per square foot. #155-015-002020 - Dr. John Kasper Concern was expressed parcel immediately to .parcel to the west is A motion was made by Ken Maus, carried to reduce Dr. John Ka for the land segment to equat the west (Parcel #155-015-022 - 1 valuation of the land compared to the which was of an equivalent size. A motion was made by Ken Maus, seconded by Fran Fair and unani- mously carried to reduce the valuation on this parcel to $2,500. A motion was made by Dan Blonigen, seconded by Fran Fair and unanimously carried to adopt the valuation on Cit of Monticello property as presented by the Wright County Assessor's Offic and as amended above.
