RESOLUTION NO. 2019-25
ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT
FOR THE 2018 PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, CITY PROJECT NO. 18CO01
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the project which included a base bid only.
The project includes sidewalk and trail improvements along 6th Street between Walnut Street and TH
25, 7thStreet between Cedar Street and the post office, Oakwood Drive between TH 25 and Cedar
Street, Bakken Street between Garvey Court to the Rolling Woods Park, and for a trail along CR 39
between Mississippi Drive and Broadway Street. Bids were received, opened, and tabulated, and the
following bids were found to comply with the advertisement for bids:

New Look Contracting, Inc. $432,106.00
Land Pride Construction, LLC $489,633.85
Barber Construction Co,. Inc. $583,444.00
WHEREAS, the bid from New Look Contracting, Inc. in the amount of $432,106.00 for the total bid
for construction of said improvements for the 2018 Pedestrian Improvements Project, in accordance
with the approved plans and specifications and advertisement of bids, is the lowest responsible bidder
and shall be herby accepted.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED BY THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, MINNESOTA
1) The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract
with said bidder for the construction of said improvements on behalf of the City of Monticello.
2) The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the
deposits made with their bids, except that the deposit of the successful bidder and the next lowest
bidder shall be retained until a contract has been executed.
