Members Present: Bruce Thielen, Earl Smith, Fran Fair Members Absent: Larry Nolan Staff Present: Jeff O'Neill, Roger Mack, Wanda Kraemer 1. Call meeting to order. Chairman Thielen called meeting to order 2. Discussion on 1997 projects and bud~et needs. The Commissioners compiled a preliminary list of budget items that will be discussed further at the next meeting: 1. Start replacing the playground equipment $40,000 2. Contract spraying for dandelions, weeds, ect. 5,000 3. Tree planting by School Blvd. & Cardinal Hills 15,000 4. Prairie Creek Park Clean-up and 2,500 Restoration Project . 5. Pathway - to Montissippi Park 30,000 (Two year plan) 6. Mississippi Drive to area along River (?) 30,000 7. Parking Lot p park by Freeway 26,000 8. Storage/Concession/Restrooms - park by freeway 20,000 9. Ballfields - 3 or 4 new fields on NSP land 45,000 10. Lion's Park - 7th Street ? 11. Picnic Tables 4,000 12. Budget items from 1996. Pathway p The $30,000 for the pathway extension from Eastwood Knoll to County Road 118 was discussed. J eff O'Neill, Assistant Administrator, stated he had anticipated this section of pathway would be included the Federal ICTE Grant that had been applied for. However, the City did not receive this grant so it would be time to continue with a design. The Commissioners recommended staff to have the City Engineer design this link of the pathway and complete it this year. An easement will be needed from Resurrection Church for the section of pathway through the church site. Pathway Maintenance - The Commissioners discussed the damage from snowmobiles to the pathway along County Road 75 from Prairie Road to W. River Street. The decision if the pathway should be kept open all winter has not been reviewed this year. Trees - Roger Mack stated trees would be planted in the park along the freeway yet this year. 4. Adjourn.
