City Council Minutes 11-07-1960November 7 1960 Regular meeting of the village council held this day. All members present Minutes of last meeting were read and approved. Motion by Adamson to grant the Monticello Legion Post #260 a club on sale retail liquor license. Senond by Hickman. Carried Motion by Hickman to authorize Ed. Sorenson to check into clamps for signs on light standards. Second Adams. Carried. Motion by Hickamn to grant bingo permit to St. Henry's church for every sunday until Junel, 1960 with condition time peroid doesn't conflict with ordiance. Second by Klein Carried. Motion by Adams to pay estimate #2 project #1 in amount of $11,859.30 to and estimate #2 project #2 in amount of $16,451.60 aad to Rowe and Alger and $9,354.60 to Carter, Krueger and. Assoicated. Second by Hidkman Carried: Motion by Klein for the following question to be put on the ballot: Shall we pledge 60% of the net receipts of the Muncipal Liquor store as monies to be ppt into the sewer bond sinking fund from which to pay off sewer I bonds and thereby reduce the cost af the sewersystem? Second by Adams. Yes Adams, Klein, Adamson No; Hickman, Anderson. Motion by Klein to transfer the $10,000 certicafe of deposit of surplus liquor funds to the waterworks sinking fund to pay off bonds due in 1963. Second by Adams. Yes, Adams Klein No Adamson Hickman Anderson. Motion by Klein to transfer the $10,000 surplus liquor certificatd of deposit to pay off the 50% of the street lighting bonds that is to go on general taxation and thereby save the people from having to pay 13/4 interest over what thet're gettng for this money at the Wright County State Bank in interest on taxes over the next 22 years. No second. Motion by Adams to tiansfer $1438,80 from general fund to water fund accord- ing to state public examiners audit. second by Hickamn Carried. Motion by Adams to transfer $7435.00 from sewer fund to general fund for payments made from general fund for engineering paid for sewer construction. Second by Hickman. Carried. Motion by Adamson to pay bills as read.
