MINUTES
INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMEN, COMMITTEE MEETING
October 20, 983
The regularly scheduled meet in of the Monticello Industrial
Development Committee was duly held at 4:00 PM on Thursday,
October 20, 1983 in City Hall. Member present were; T. Eidem,
R. Hoglund, J. Bondhus, D. tun itz, J. Morrell, B. Schrupp,
S. Johnson, G. Wieber, D. Smit , and A. pelvit. Members not
present were; A. Grimsmo. W. M sty, C. Johnson and B. Gagnelius.
G. Wieber informed the committ e that his sub-committee (Promo-
tion and advertising) had a me ting at Perkins on 10-19-83. He
explained several alternatives for Brochu>>es. He presented differ-
ent types of Brochures from va ious Economic Development Centers
around the five state area.

Industrial Development Committ e and the City Informational Pack-
age.

G. Wieber also suggested a di ect mail campaign with 2- 3 letters
per year directed at specific reas that Monticello wants to stress.
J. Bondhus and D. Smith both a 'reed that direct mail was the hottest thing
going today, but did not think 'we should abandon our other forms
of advertising. J. Bondhus als suggested that we use Testimonial
letters from established busin sses.

T. Eidem suggested that all su -committees get their budget amounts
to A. Pelvit by November 4, 19 3. The amounts will then be in-
corporated in the overall Budg t and voted on at the November 17,
1983 meeting. A motion to have each sub-committee submitt its
budget to A. Pe1vit by Novembe, 4, 1983, and have the committee
vote on the Budget at the Nove ber 17, 1983 meeting was made by
T. Eidem. It was seconded by B. Schrupp. It was passed unanimously.

J. Bondhus expressed his inter~ t for more funds to be given the Industrial
Development Committee from the ity. He felt that more money is being
generated from expansion and re ocation than is being given back
for future Budget needs. He als, thought the Committee should be
putting more of an effort into advertising.
D. Smith felt that the committee was in a majo~ expansion with addding
A. Pelvit to the staff, but was not opposed to hearing comments from other
committee members regarding adertising programs.

J. Bondhus suggested more invovement of Committee Members with
new prospects. A. Pelvit noted that the suggested was well taken
and said he would make more us of such meetings in the future.
