MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairperson Shelly Johnson, Dennis Taylor,
Dave Peterso , Dale Pogatchnik, Ken Maus,
Lowell Schru p, Dale Lungwitz, Arve Grimsmo.
Ron Hoglund, and Ollie Koropchak.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Donald Smith, Harvey Kendall, Jay Morrell,
Rick Wolfsteller, Jim Kruger, and Linda
Mielke.

1. CALL TO ORDER.
Chairperson Shelly Johnson called the IDC meeting to order
at 7:03 AM.
2. APPROVAL OF THE JULY 27, 1989 IDC MINUTES.
Ron Hoglund made a motion to approve the July 27, 1989 IDC
minutes, seconded by Dale ungwitz, the minutes were approved
as written.

3. CONSIDERATION
TICKET PRICE.
Koropchak reported that the Timberwolves owners, Marvin
Wolfenson and Harvey Rettner, were unavailable to speak
at the IDC Banquet, however, a letter of request for a speaker
may be addressed to the a~tention of Christine Hicks and
they guarantee a 10 day r~sponse. A one hundred dollar
donation for youth charit~ is requested. The IDC recommended
that Koropchak not contin;'e with a Timherwolves public
relations speaker but to ve Harvey Kendall continue
the recruitment of NSP Ch irman of the Board Jim Howard
and to have Wayne Hornveg t continue the recruitment of
Cargill's Worldwide Poult~ Division President. James
Bassett.
A motion was made by Arve rimsmo for banquet ticket price
at $75.00 with additional ticket at $50.00 per ticket
buyer (intended for spouse,), the motion was seconded by
Dale Pogatchnik and passed unanimously.

Don Smith will contact the industrial businesses by
mail after Labor Day for a interest to display a
booth at the banquet. PIa s are for 10-12 businesses
to respond favorably. Den is Taylor and Ron Hoglund
volunteered to coordinate the set up at the Monte
Club starting at approximately 5:00-5:30PM. Don Smith
is unable to attend the banquet this year.

Chairperson Johnson and K ropchak will arrange the three
business testimonies, and Koropchak will contact Bruce
Gagnelius for a suggested menu. The banquet will include
an open bar until dinner s served. Tickets will be
ordered after recruitment of a speaker and menu selection.

5. PROSPECTS: MANTEQ INTERN TIONAL, INC.
On August 14, 1989, Mr. Norman Strand and Mr.
Stewart Wilso visited Minnesota and Monticello,

CARDINAL IG - Shelly Johnson, Arve Grimsmo, Ken
Maus, Ron Hoglnd, and Koropchak toured Cardinal's
Minneapolis plant on August 1. Mr. Renato Lizardo
hosted and inf'ormed the IDC that Cardinal was
landlocked at their present location and is
looking for optional site locations to relocate

The visiting IDC group w s most impressed by the company's
excellent employees relationship. Mr. Lizardo and his
associate will visit Mont'cello on September 8 to tour
our city and the industr1 1 sites. Koropchak asked for

K-MART - O'Neill reported that Lincoln Companies has a
signed letter of intent w'th K-Mart. At present the
City's planner and engine 'r and Lincoln Companies are
preparing studies for the 7th street road alignment,
options of straight or cu~ ed alignment. The traffic impact
of K-Mart does not warranu any change at the intersection
of Highway 25 and 7 Street', however, as other cormnerical
