Planning Commission meeting -_ SaturdaYt December 5 -- 8:20 A. M.
Members present: Robert Davist Grant Schleif, Larry Flaket Fred Topel,
Lloyd Schnelle, Dale Lungwitz. Absent: Don Hueller. Also attending:
Ron Schleif, mayor; William Sandberg, council representative; Stan Hall,
Blaine Nobbs, Howard Gillham and Gene Fair, interested residents.
Ron Schleif called meeting to order and turned it over to Robert Davis.
Bob advised that Village Council meets on Tuesday evening, December 8th,
and joint meeting of Planning Commission and Village Council will meet
on Wednesday, December 9th. Ron read the letter that had been sent to
the Township Board requesting joint resolution for merger.
January 7th meeting is still a Hearing for orderly annexation.
Northern States Power Co. has hired their own community olanner to
make a study and reoort back to them Brauer and Associates.
If the Township does not concur with a joint resolutiont an alternative
is to obtain a netition of 100 owner-residents. This aet10n would still
create a hassle with the township people -- no referendum needed.
Lloyd Schnelle suggested that the Village Council adopt an ordinance for
assessment policy.
The original proposal for a hearing for orderly annexation is still the
order for the hearing for January 7th.
Stan Hall suggested that we contact N.S.P. and discuss with them what
they consider fair taxable improvements. Also try to get N. S. P. to
commit themselves to which governmental body they favor affiliation
wi th.
