Planning Commission Heeting
~ednesday February 16, 1972 1:30 p.m.

Heeting called to order bv Robert Davis, Chairman. Members present:
Fred Topel, J. \.1. 'Miller Jr., Larry Flake, James Malls, Dale
Lungwitz. Absent: Gr~nt Schleif, ,Jeff Rowan.

Charles Tooker had talked to Hr. HcNalley of Public Service
Commission rell:ardinp: proposed railroad crossing in event of
relocation of Byway 25. McNalley had advised that there are
some crossings as low as0300 angle, b\lt commission prefers
crossings as close to 90 as possible. Tooker showed a sketch
that would provide a cr.ossing'at about 600. Highway would
shift to right at north side of Hillside Cemetery and swing
north to follow Cedar Street northerly to cross Mississippi
on proposed new bridge at end of Cedar St.
Charles Tooker gave a report on zoning of village in relation
to revised proposed zoning ordnance. Discussion on dmmtown
planningt industrial zoning and multiple residence area
followed. Some discussion on proposed closing of some )0 cross
streets not necessary to traffic flow and add to maintenance
costs.
Motion made by Fred Topel, seconded by Larry Flake that the
Planning COPmlission recommend the proposed zoning ordnance
and zoning map to the village council and further that a
public hearing be held on..the adoption of the ordnance
either by the Village Councilor the Planning Commission
to replace the existing zoning ordinance. Carried. All in favor.
Hotion by Larry Flake, seconded by J. 1I1111er to accept the general
plan a.S outlined on the downtown planning map as a guide for
lonl'!; range planning. Carried. All in favor.
Advise on hotice of hearing to he held in Buffalo to chanl7,e
zoning from ag'ricultural to 1.ndustrial a parcel of property
adjacent to the vilh.ge on the South. Property is generally
owned by Oakwood Corp. with proposed partial development by
State Highway Department. Robert Da.vis to represent Planning
Commission at hearing on February 24th.
Palnning Commission encourages Village Council to lookfavorabl.
on having utility conduits placed under 1-94 at this time to
prepare for development of area South of I-94.

Planning Commission requests joint special meeting of Village
Council and Planning Commission on February 29th at 7:30 p.m.
