Planning Commission meeting - Wednesday, May 16, 1971 - ?:30 p. M.
The meetin~ was called to order at 7:30 p. M. by Chairman Jim Maus.
Members uresent: J. W. M111er, Ia.rry Muehlnauer, Cl1arles Stumpf, Ron
White, Mel Worth. Absent: Fred Topel. Ex_officio member '''alt Markling
was not in attendance.
Council member Dan Blonigen was 1n attendance at the meeting.
The minutes for the meeting of Anri1 25, 1973 were anproved with one
correction: Page 2, paragraph 2, lines 3 & 4 were changed to read:
"Planning Commission members were of the opinion the minimum rear-
yard requirements should be changed from a 30' to a 10' requirement
fox: accessorv non-attached structures. ,.

A presentation was made by Mr. Paul Johnston, Wright County Planning
official, in regard to a request for a building permit request of Mr.
John Bondhus. Mr. Bondhus is reauesting permission to build a tool
shop on the east end of Monticello on land presently located in the
Township. Mr. Johnston stated the central question here is, how does
this fit into the annexation pronosal? Planning Commission members
were in agreement there should be no problem here and recommended that
the village council review the proposal favorably.
A discussion was led by Jim Maus regarding a re~uest by Lynn Smith, of
the Monticello Times, to develop a parallel parking area in front of
the Monticello Times building being constructed on the corner of River
Street and Cedar Street. After discussion, a motion was made qy Chuck
Stumpf, seconded by Mel Wortn, that the Planning Commission recommend
to the villa~e council that the Property owner pay the cost of black-
topping and curbing with the understanding the village would assume
maintenance responsibility 11pon completion of the project. In addition,
the Planning Commission recommends the property owner uresent a diagram
of the pronosed plan for review by the Commission and the villa~e council.
Voting in favor: Maus, Miller, Muehlbauer, Stumnf, White, Worth. Op-
posed: None. Absent: Tonel.
The Village administrator was asked to write to state officials -
countY', if necessary, - reg~rdinp' nrODer lighting for the walk-way on
the Mississioni River bridge during the constrllction period.
The villap'e administrator was asked to write an explanation to Tom
Holker regarding the proposed improvement of 51 Street.
A motion to adjourn was made by Larry Muehlbauer, seconded by J. W.
Miller. Carried - all in favor.
