Regular meeting of the City Planning Commission - August 21, 1974

The regular meeting of the City Planning Commission was called to
order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairman Chuck Stumpf. Members present:
Anderson, Stumpf, Topel, White. Absent: Maus, Miller, Muehlbaurer.
The minutes of July f7,1974, were approved with one correction.
A presentation was made by Mr. Robert Rasmussen, who requested a
Variance Permit to build within 5-ft. of his south side property
line. A utility shed on a cement slab will be installed. A
motion to grant the Variance Permit to Mr. Rasmussen was made by
F. Topel, seconded by R. White. Voting in favor: Anderson, Stumpf,
Topel, White. Opposed: None. Absent: Maus, Miller, Muehlbaurer.
Motion carried.
A presentation was made by Mr. Wilbur Eck, who desires to buy parcel
35 B of the parcels recently purchased by the City from the State
of Minnesota. After discussion a motion was made by F. Topel,
. seconded by R. White, to recommend to the City Council that Mr. Eck
be given the first option to buy this parcel after a property
description has been obtained and verified by the City Attorney.
Voting in favor: Anderson, Stumpf, Topel, White. Opp6s~~: None.
Absent: Maus, Miller, Muehbeurer. Motion carried.
A presentation was made by Mr. Gus Hammer, who requested that
Chestnut Street from Highway 152 to Third Street be considered for
vacation (Between Blocks 42 & 43). Members of the Planning
Commission recommended that Mr. Hammer initiate a petition to be
signed by adjacent property owner for presentation to the City
Council. Mr. Hammer stated he would have his lawyer initiate this
action.
A short discussion was held in regard to the Christian Service Building.
Chairman Chuck Stumpf stated he had been working with developers of
the project and everything is proceeding properly.
A motion to adjourn was made by R. White, seconded by F. Topel.
Motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at approximately 8:30 P.M.
