Planning Commission Resolution 2021-019CITY OF MONTICELLO WRIGHT COUNTY, MINNESOTA PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. PC-2021-019 A RESOLUTION FINDING THAT THE PROPOSED DISPOSAL OF CERTAIN LAND FOR COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT PURPOSES BY THE CITY OF MONTICELLO IS CONSISTENT WITH THE CITY OF MONTICELLO'S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN WHEREAS, the City of Monticello (the "City") proposes to dispose of certain property (the "Property") legally described as Lot 2, Block 1, Jefferson Commons 15t Addition in the City of Monticello, according to the plat on file and of record in the Office of the Registrar of Deeds in and for Wright County, Minnesota; PID: 155176001020; for the purposes of commercial development; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, Section 462.356, subd. 2 requires the City Planning Commission to review the proposed acquisition or disposal of publicly -owned real property within the City prior to its acquisition or disposal, to determine whether in the opinion of the Planning Commission, such acquisition or disposal is consistent with the comprehensive municipal plan; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the proposed acquisition of the Property and has determined that the Property is guided and zoned B-4 commercial and is designated for commercial use within the City's comprehensive plan, that the City's purpose is to develop the Property consistent with these uses, and that the proposed disposal is therefore consistent with the City's comprehensive plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Planning Commission of the City of Monticello, that the disposal of the Property by the City is consistent with the City's comprehensive municipal plan and will promote the development of a portion of the larger commercial area. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be communicated to the City Council. Adopted this 1st day of June, 2021, by the Monticello Planning Commission.
