City Council Resolution 1999-24RESOLUTION NO. 99-24 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS TH 25 IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 96-04C WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the improvement of Trunk Highway 25 including interchange access improvements at I-94 and Trunk Highway 25, widening of Trunk Highway 25 from I-94 south approximately 1.6 miles to four lanes with left turn channelization, construction of traffic signals, storm sewer, turn lanes, a pathway, utilities and other appurtenant construction, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement: CONTRACTOR BID AMOUNT Buffalo Bituminous, Inc. $5,44800.00 Bauerly Companies $5,965,928.25 Barbarossa and Sons, Inc. $6,021,131.03 AND WHEREAS, it appears that Buffalo Bituminous of Buffalo, Minnesota is the lowest responsible bidder, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF MONTICELLO, MINNESOTA: 1. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Buffalo Bituminous, Inc. of Buffalo, Minnesota in the name of the City of Monticello for the improvement of Trunk Highway 25 including interchange access improvements at I-94 and Trunk Highway 25, widening of Trunk Highway 25 from I-94 south approximately 1.6 miles to four lanes with left turn channelization, construction of traffic signals, storm sewer, turn lanes, a pathway, utilities and other appurtenant construction according to the plans and specifications therefor approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Administrator. 2. The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
