RESOLUTION SUPPORTING DESIGNATION OF YUCCA
MOUNTAIN AS NATIONAL REPOSITORY FOR SPENT
NUCLEAR MATERIAL
WHEREAS, there is a need to establish a repository for spent nuclear waste, and
WHEREAS, the Yucca Mountain in Nevada has been identified as the sole site for study in a establishing a
repository for nuclear waste, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOL VED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MONTICELLO, that the City of Monticello supports the efforts of Chambers of Commerce throughout the
United States to establish the Yucca Mountain as a repository for spent nuclear material.
Adopted by the Monticello City Council this 13th day of May, 2002.
