Planning Commission Resolution 2021-050MONTICELLO PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 2021-050 A RESOLUTION FINDING THAT THE PROPOSED ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN LAND FOR REDEVELOPMENT PURPOSES BY THE CITY OF MONTICELLO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY IS CONSISTENT WITH THE CITY OF MONTICELLO'S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN WHEREAS, the City of Monticello Economic Development Authority (the "Authority") proposes to purchase certain property (the "Property") located at 113 West Broadway Street in the City of Monticello (the "City"), for the purposes of eventual redevelopment; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, Section 462.356, subd. 2, requires the City Planning Commission (the "Planning Commission") to review the proposed acquisition or disposal of publicly -owned real property within the City prior to its acquisition or disposal, to determine whether in the opinion of the Planning Commission, such acquisition or disposal is consistent with the City's comprehensive municipal plan (the "Comprehensive Plan"); and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the proposed acquisition of the Property and has determined that the Property is located in the downtown area of the City, is zoned Central Community District, and is designated for mixed commercial and multifamily residential uses within the Comprehensive Plan and the City's downtown small area plan, and that the Authority's purpose is to redevelop the Property consistent with these uses, and that the proposed acquisition is therefore consistent with the Comprehensive Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Planning Commission of the City of Monticello, that the acquisition of the Property by the Authority is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan and will promote the redevelopment of a portion of the downtown area of the City.
