City Council Minutes 10-12-1970 Page 2211 October 5, 1970 The recessed meeting of September 24 was called to order on October 5, 1970 at 7:30 P.M. with all councilmen present. Dale Johnson, auditor, was also present. The balance of the proposed budget was discussed and modifications noted. Don Granlund to have finalized budget prepared for October 15th meeting. Village engineer had recommended to Council that it consider the placing of an additional 10 ft. of screen in the well at this time at an added cost of approximately $1280.00. Motion made by James Maus, seconded by Richard Martie. Carried. Motion for a 'ournment at 9:45 P.M. Carried. Don Gralurid, Clerk DCG/lcg - October 12, 1970 Joint meeting of Planning Commission and Village Council Attending: James Maus, Franz Swanberg, Richard Martie, Ron Schleif, William Sandberg, Robert Davis, Don Hueller, Grant Schleif, Fred Topel, Dale Lung- witz, Lloyd Schnelle and Gary Pringle. Ron spoke on federal monies being available to Monticello for community planning. General feeling to hold up until annexation is complete. Some downtown planning is now in the works by the retailers. Questions and dis- cussion on what Mr. Tooker has done and what we would be getting for the $7500.00. Feeling was that much of this work has been done. A meeting with Mr. Tooker will take place Thursday evening at Council Chambers after C. of C. meeting. Robert Davis asked Gary Pringle if the Monte Club is in the area to be annexed and Gary responded that it is, but will verify. Discussion on annexation lines and if they can be changed by the township or the village or by mutual agreement. Bob Davis stated the township is willing to change the lines, Dale Lungwitz suggested a joint planning commission. One agency for both units of government. Discussion was made on what lines would be made if NSP appealed out. Would we take a smaller portion of land? Ron stated that Village Council would want to know all the tax information upon annexation. Don Hueller made motion that south and gest lines be drawn in and amended to read from river on 39 to section line below Wingert farm to quarter section on east side and to river. L. Schnelle spoke to hold up on any action until Council and Commission makes a decision on this or a similar line. No second to motions. Motions lost. Village and township may get together before October 21st. What are they talking about? What can be gained? Richard Martie, Secretary
